UMUC’s BS in Digital Media and Web Technology consists of 120 credits, the university’s generous transfer policy allows up to 90 credits to be waived. Core courses include Introduction to Interactive Design, Fundamentals of Digital Media, and Current Trends and Projects in Digital Media and Web Technology. From there, students choose to focus in either Web Design or Digital Design. Each track covers Image Editing and Illustration Graphics, but Web Design students learn more programming, including JavaScript and XML; Digital Design students focus on Multimedia, Motion Graphics, and Electronic Publishing. Students also have the opportunity to customize the degree through 49 free elective credits. The degree can be completed 100% online, but hybrid delivery is also available for students who want to combine distance and on-campus courses.
